I have my Magic Mouse set up with left and right taps, as well as three-finger and two-finger gestures. Most crucially, I have the single finger left tap set up.. I'm on a 2020 13" MBP i5 with Catalina, and I've noticed that the Magic Mouse functions set up in BTT seem to drift on and off if I'm using Adobe InDesign. Within InDesign, they don't work at all, and then when I switch to another app they might work, they might not. If I restart, they work for a while, and then they stop. This only seems to happen when I'm running Adobe software.
