BTT Suddenly Unusable - Mouse Exhibiting Strange Behaviors

Note:
Before bug reporting, please make sure you have tried the latest (alpha) version of BetterTouchTool and that you have already tried to restart your system :-). If you encounter a crash, please attach a crash log from the macOS Console.app from the "User Diagnostic Reports" section.

Checked this, no regular nor alpha updates available.

Describe the bug
Odd things are happening to my external mouse, regardless of which mouse I'm using. At first the left and right clicks were switched, then after I restarted my machine, scroll down minimizes windows and scroll up toggles between maximizing them and unmaximizing. There is no configuration I've ever set up to make this happen. It's definitely BTT because when I quit BTT, the problem goes away, and vice versa.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):
Various external mouse peripherals.

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: M1 Pro MacBook Pro
  • macOS version: Sequoia 15.2
  • BetterTouchTool version: Version 5.070 (2025011403)

Additional information (e.g. crash logs, related issues, etc.):
This makes the app unusable - I keep minimizing windows every two seconds.

have a look at the "recently used" section in BTT. (BTT can only do what is configured, and that would show up there)

Looks like somehow it became part of SWM? I'll ping in that thread, unless you have an idea, @Andreas_Hegenberg

maybe for some reason the FN key on one of your connected keyboards is pressed?

WOW. At first I was like, there's no way that's possible. My keyboard doesn't even have an Fn key.

Turns out there was another external keyboard still BT-paired to my laptop sitting on another desk that had different keyboard on top of it that was pressing the Fn key on the paired keyboard :joy:

Thanks for bug fixing... my... desks?

haha I had something like that in mind :joy: (because it happened to me just yesterday when I forgot my keyboard in my backpack)
