BTT Stream Deck (full control) and Elagato Stream Deck iOS App

Hi, the stream deck is such a perfect (and easy to use) way for me to achieve my Music "Tagging" project goals.

I paid for Elagato's year subscription for the iOS app- I plan to use my iPad mini as the stream deck. This works okay, but I am noticing (as mentioned in the documentation) limitations of not allowing BTT full control; however I cannot seem to get this working...

ACTUAL QUESTION:
Is there a way to allow BTT full control when using the iOS app or does it HAVE to be a physical Stream Deck connected to my MacBook? I've even tried connecting my iPad mini directly to my MacBook
