BTT quits suddenly

I've been having problems with BTT quitting spontaneously. One reproducible method is to have the Configuration window visible & in process modifying within a Group. In the top left corner of the window, there's Back button to go up one group level. Then make the window not active by changing apps, or going to another BTT window. Then go back to the original window & click the Back button without making the window active first. BTT will suddenly quit.

This is BTT 4.832. Mac 16-inch 2019. MacOS 15.1.

could you post or send me the crashlog? (andreas@folivora.ai). You can find it in the macOS console.app

There have been some crashfixes in the latest builds (https://folivora.ai/releases/btt4.847-2024103105.zip ) but not sure if this was one of them. I can’t seem to reproduce it here though

There is no crash log. It just quits. I have the same problem. After quitting, the trackpad commands no longer work. You have to restart the app, and everything works again until BTT quits again. It quits continuously.

that sounds like something different, in a crash like described in the original post there is always a crashlog :slight_smile:

Your case sounds like BTT is closing itself for some reason. If you go to Help -> Export Diagnostic Debug Information and send the result to me (andreas@folivora.ai) I can check why

The title of the post talks about BTT quitting, not crashing. Besides, bcarp, the original poster, never used the word "crash".

yes but he described a crash in his post and sent the crashlogs to me

Why not? Your logs could be very helpful

Your case sounds like BTT is closing itself for some reason. If you go to Help -> Export Diagnostic Debug Information and send the result to me (andreas@folivora.ai) I can check why
