BTT prevents menubar from appearing

Describe the bug

I have the “Automatically hide and show the menu bar” box checked in System Preferences > General. In every other app, the menubar appears when I bring the mouse cursor to the top of the screen.

However, when BTT is in the foreground, the menubar does not appear. Thus I am unable to view the clock, the battery level, the wifi indicator, or access the Apple menu while the BTT configuration window is active.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

MacBook Pro trackpad

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: 2013 retina MacBook Pro 15.4″
  • macOS version: Mojave 10.14.5 (18F132)
  • BetterTouchTool version: BTT 3.05 (1164)

Update:

As of BTT 3.073, when the new UI window is active the menubar works correctly, however after closing the window, the menubar disappears and won’t show up again until I click or switch to another program.

In particular, the following sequence of actions makes the menubar not appear:

  1. Open BTT configuration window (I have a BTT keyboard shortcut for this)
  2. Close BTT configuration window (the menubar now disappears)
  3. Reopen BTT configuration window via keyboard shortcut

At that point, the BTT window is open and active, and the menubar will not appear.

The old UI window makes the menubar behave weirdly as well.
