BTT has trouble detecting fingers on the right side of the trackpad

@Andreas_Hegenberg An observation about the trackpad. Something I noticed a while back has now been visually confirmed by BTT.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a screenshot of it, so I’ll describe it (see below).

When I place a finger on the right side of the trackpad, BTT shows me that my finger is where the red circle is. But that’s not true. In fact, my finger is where the blue circle is.

When I place my finger where the red circle is, BTT shows nothing (no finger). When I slowly move my finger (on the trackpad) to the left, BTT detects the finger and shows me that it’s where the red circle is. But it’s actually where the blue circle is.

I hope you understand what I’m trying to explain.

In any case, this effect (bug?) is much more pronounced on the right edge of the trackpad than on the left. It’s significantly less noticeable at the top and bottom.

For me, this means that certain gestures on the right side of the trackpad aren’t recognized.

Can you reproduce this?

By default it is showing the "filtered" mode, that is used if "Thumb Handling" is enabled in the settings. You can enable the unfiltered view by toggling the switch on the bottom right

True. Filtered or not, makes all the difference.

However, I would have expected (hoped) that filtering the thumb (palm) wouldn't also filter out a finger. The palm is significantly larger and is also displayed as such by BTT.

Well, at least I know now. I need to test whether I can manage without thumb filtering so I can use the entire trackpad. Thanks, Andreas.

unfortunately on the edges of the trackpad it is not possible to go by the size of the finger, because if you rest the palm nearby it will produce all sort of weird "ghost" input on the edges ;-(
