BTT does not launch without internet connection

Describe the bug
The latest alpha version of BTT refuses to launch without an internet connection. I live in a place where there is no internet connection and BTT doesn't launch at all. Please fix this. Ideally the app should not even try to connect to the internet if auto-update is turned off.

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: iMac 2020
  • macOS version: 11.6.8
  • BetterTouchTool version: 3.982 (2147)

Additional information (e.g. StackTraces, related issues, screenshots, workarounds, etc.):
The only workaround is to somehow connect to the internet for a few seconds using my mobile hotspot and then disconnect it.

It seems to work fine here without internet. Maybe it's an issue with older macOS versions, in v3.938 I have removed a check for older macOS versions, maybe that helps.
