BetterTouchTool Privacy Statement Popup Opens every time I Unlock

I have BetterTouchTool for my MacBook Pro and a lifetime license.
For the last few weeks, every time I unlock my MacBook, I get a popup:
"BetterTouchTool Privacy Statement"

If I then click 'Continue to use BetterTouchTool it closes and a second pop 'Anonymous usage & crash reporting' pops. I always click 'Do not allow'.

THEN, it pops yet another window! 'BetterTouch Tool is now ready to use'.
If I click 'Start using BTT & open preferences' (only button), it will start all over with the original BetterTouchTool privacy statement popup. Only way to stop the cycle is to X out of the ready to use window.

Anyone know how to stop the incessant popups?

Hey,

that sounds like a file permission error. The easiest solution would be to delete the ~/Library/Preferences/com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool.plist file, BTT will then generate a new copy of it with the correct permissions. This will however lose some of the settings you made.

To delete that file you can run this terminal command while BTT is quit:
rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool.plist

Thanks Andreas that did it!
Indeed I had to remove the file.
Was surprised that chmod 777 ~/Library/Preferences/com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool.plist didn't do the trick.

Maybe it was somehow corrupted and couldn't be read/written to because of this.
