BetterTouchTool opens when Siri app is opened (MacOS 27)

The most likely reason is that you have a "Left-Click Dock App Icon" trigger configured in BTT. BTT can not do this on its own.

If that's not it, possibly check the "Recently Used" section in BTT to see whether something else is triggered.

I did write up a report on this:

macOS 27.0 Golden Gate, build 26A428, BetterTouchTool 6.821 (2026091501).

When I open the new Siri app by clicking its app or Dock icon, BTT’s configuration window also opens unexpectedly.

BTT’s logs show reopen requests originating from both:

• intelligencecontextd, located in Apple’s IntelligenceFlowContextRuntime.framework

• The new Siri app, bundle identifier com.apple.campo

These requests are followed by applicationShouldHandleReopen and showing prefs. This appears to be Siri’s context gathering causing BTT to handle a background request as an intentional app reopening.

Workaround

Quit BTT, run the following, then restart it:

defaults write com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool BTTDontShowPrefsOnReopen -bool true

The drawback is that intentionally reopening BTT through its app icon or Spotlight no longer opens its configuration. It can still be opened through the menu bar or explicitly with:

osascript -e 'tell application "BetterTouchTool" to trigger_action "{\"BTTPredefinedActionType\":105}"'

Could BTT distinguish Siri’s background context requests from intentional app launches, so this workaround isn’t necessary?
