After starting BTT, it usually crashes after a few dozen minutes.
Can you check whether there is a crash log in the macOS console app's crash report section?
There are not. But BTT disappeared after a few minutes.
I am also having many silent background crashes (nothing in console.app either), though mostly it seems to happen after the screensaver / lock. Also “restart BTT” is shutting down but not actually restarting anymore.

ah you are all on the 26.1 beta, I didn't notice that. Unfortunately this macOS build has a known bug that Apple needs to fix. (I only add workarounds if Apple releases the bugs to production but not during the beta phases)

That's my observation too
5.706 at least disables the non-working restart functionality on 26.1 and uses some fallback mechanism. This is not a great solution but should work until apple fixes the issue.

I think Apple has fixed the issue in the 26.1 RC so I have rolled back the workarounds in 5.745
Also been continuously crashing on 26.0, 26.0.1, and now 26.1. though not silent there are crash logs every few seconds. On all three of my machines. (MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Studio)

The machine I hadn’t used in a while updated to 26.1 today and BTT ran until I opened the config then it crashed as soon as the window opened. After that it appears for a split second in the menu bar and then crashes again.

I uploaded a new beta to setapp which might resolve this. You need to enable beta updates in the setapp settings if you want to try it.
