HI, I was instructed to post a new topic about BST. I don’t see anything specific to BST, it’s mostly BTT stuff, so hopefully this is okay here, and if not, please let me know where it should go.

Since upgrading to my new M4 Max (coming from M1 Pro), my custom snap windows have not been saving past a restart, and the custom key commands I set for each custom window are also not retained after a restart. This also happens with certain preset snap windows (like maximize), where the key commands I’ve set aren’t retained after a restart.

While I did get a new computer, I think the issue is just Sequoia, since my M1 Pro was never updated past Sonoma

For reference, I’m running two UWD 34” LG monitors at 3440x1440 side by side.

Happy to provide a system report, but not in a public forum, unfortunately

that is most likely a file permission issue. Did you restore your machine from some backup?

If you don't care about loosing your snap areas, the easiest way to solve this is to delete these two files (quit BST first):

~/Library/Preferences/com.hegenberg.BetterSnapTool.plist
and
~/Library/Application Support/BetterSnapTool/storedata

To open the library folder use Finder => Go => Go to Folder, make sure to include the ~

Okay great, thanks, I’ll try that.

I never migrate my Macs, always install things fresh, but I’ll delete those plists and let you know. I can recreate the snap areas no problem.

Thanks for making this product, it’s something I rely on!

That seemed to do the trick. Thank you so much!

I can create another thread but one issue I’ve had for years, on multiple Macs is my Maximize key command will disappear randomly. Definitely not every restart like the more recent issue you helped me with. I’m thinking maybe it’s a system level macOS key command that’s being stolen by the OS? The key command is [⌃⌥⌘+Number pad 0]
