Automatic Function Keys toggling

I see that the latest update introduced an action for toggling Function Keys. That's great!
However, my current setup consists of having F keys permanently on, and then having them act as Media Keys via a shortcut for each. I then disable the Media Keys shortcuts for some apps, like IDE's.

Is there any way to use the new functionality and somehow make the Function Keys active only while certain apps are focused?
I would stick to my current setup, but combined keypresses with Media Keys don't work (CMD + F3 should reveal the desktop, but it doesn't do anything).

There are multiple ways to achieve this, the easiest is to use the "Specific App Did Activate" and "Specific App Did Deactivate" triggers:
