auto-update never works & manual "Check for regular update" shows outdated app

this bug applies to multiple versions of BTT because it's been a pain all year. finally got around to filing a bug report here.

currently on BTT 5.468 (an old version, from last month), but it cannot be updated for two reasons:

1. auto-update (in BTT settings) never works and so the app doesn't update itself.
2. manual "Check for regular update" also doesn't work because it says I'm "up-to-date" even though I'm not.

how to fix? I'm tired of doing very manual updates by downloading the app from the website. thanks!

that’s expected, if you want newer versions you need to use „check for alpha version updates“

Updates are only pushed to users every 1-2 month unless you have alpha updates enabled
