App-specific shortcut erroneously fires when Spotlight search bar is frontmost

Describe the bug
I have assigned a shortcut to QuickTime Player whereby pressing the "i" key invokes the shortcut "command+y". If QuickTime Player is the active application, and I invoke Spotlight using command+space, then I cannot type the letter "i" in Spotlight's search bar, because BTT is intercepting the keypress and sending command+y to QuickTime Player.

Could BTT detect that the Spotlight search bar is open and treat Spotlight as being the active application in that case?
