I've noticed that BTT doesn't integrate smoothly with AltTab when using certain trackpad gestures. For example, tip tap - 2 fixed fingers and one tapping left does trigger AltTab, but it's quite laggy and unresponsive. If I tap quickly to switch windows, there's a noticeable delay, which makes it frustrating to use
Before switching to BTT, I used Multitouch, where this worked great, so i was surprised that BTT struggles with it. I also saw other people mentioning the same issue in the forums.
Is there a fix or workaround for this? Maybe an update to improve compatibility? Since it's one of the most popular app switchers, I imagine manny BTT users would benefit it.
Right now, I have to keep both BTT and Multitouch running just for this one gesture, which isn't ideal. I also tried BTT's built-in window switcher which nice, but still doesn't match the experience of AltTab.
Would love to hear if there's a fix or workaround,
I use AltTab (and actually DockAltTab too) and have no problems with either.. Actually have integrations where trackpad gestures done over open AltTab window/app previews, or dock window previews results in actions like minimize, close, window, exit etc. I use 4 finger click for AltTab all App Windows switcher and. 4 finger tap for app window and its instantaneous. Maybe you have a delay setting or fade. setting but if it works fine calling via. different. app then prob not but......have you. tried a different trigger just to see?
Are using newest AltTab? Also if you like AltTab check out DockDoor, search on github/google new app tried it out has some great features and looks great. just. FYI
Hey,
Could you maybe share your BTT trackpad configuration, including both the gesture setup and any relevant settings in the trackpad config section?
BTW, I recorded two short videos comparing how AltTab responds when triggered via BTT vs. Multitouch (which works the way I want).
BTT: Video – Notice the lag and occasional unintended window openings.
Multitouch:Video – Much smoother and more responsive.
In both videos, I performed the exact same gesture—two fixed fingers while repeatedly tapping with the third left one to switch windows.
It seems like the issue might be that in BTT, each tap triggers both Cmd + Tab and Cmd, whereas in Multitouch, each tap only triggers Cmd + Tab. Not sure why this happens, though.
