Action “Show Emoji & Symbol / Character Palette” does not work

I attached the Action “Show Emoji & Symbol / Character Palette” to a Magic Mouse tap. This seems to switch focus (to BetterTouchTool?), but nothing happens. While in BetterTouchTool, it works.

Thanks, this works. Note: tapping on an emoji in the emoji dialog does not work. Clicking on an emoji will insert the emoji though.

Hi, This solution doesn't work for me. The Emoji Palette still ONLY opens with BTT behind it (i.e. will not be able to see the palette with another app as the focus) .
Was there a mitigation for this? (apologies if I've missed it)
