Who said that? This would be interesting to know.
I don't think Apple fixed anything - also this is probably not a bug, Apple just made it so only their own apps can access that (private API).
However I plan to add a workaround for the most popular media apps soon.
Alcove Community(Alcove is a popular third-party app that brings the dynamic island to macOS). Maybe Alcove directly accesses to Apple Music rather than system-level media control?

If possible, can you point me to that discussion for Alcove? On their Github I see the related issues but no comments about it being fixed in the RC
I have just implemented some workarounds in BTT 5.279 alpha. Would be great if you could check whether this works for you. It is much more complicated than before and currently doesn't support all apps but I'll add support for more in the next days.
