Hi, I've accepted that recent versions of BTT no longer support the Apple Remote. I'm okay with that.
My question is whether it is possible to disable its IR driver? I am trying to run RemoteBuddy for my remote needs and it states that BTT is also using IR Empfänger thus creating a conflict. Given the lack of support for IR, I was surprised that this was the case and don't understand the need for it.
I'd like to see an option to disable the driver or, even better, removed in future versions of BTT. Thanks!
You can still configure the Apple Remote in BTT, you just need to open the old configuration UI as this has not been ported to the new one.
Even in the old one it's hidden a bit:
Probably you still have some triggers there?
You can also deactivate it using this terminal command while BTT is quit:
defaults write com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool useAppleRemotePlugin NO
As it turns out, I did have old triggers that I thought got wiped out with the new UI, updates. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I think that resolves the conflict at the moment. I appreciate the console command—just in case. Cheers!
