^^^ put 44530 in the trash. Unzipped and dropped 4443 in my apps folder and I'm back in business.
In what kind of app have you tried that? (it seems to work fine here, but there has been a change in 4.453 that disables delays between keystrokes by default. For most things the delay was not necessary and caused issues. It is possible it's still necessary in some scenarios.
To get back the old behavior that adds ~0.1 second delay between each key sent by BTT, you can check this option:

This morning, I checked on the Activity Monitor and Logitech logi bolt was using 1.5GB of RAM.
I subsequently removed logi bolt and the old Options, leaving only Options+ to control my MX Keys Mini keyboard.
Things got more stable after that.
I'm going to use 4.443 for today and then attempt to upgrade BTT to 4.45X tomorrow to confirm that was the culprit.
