Describe the bug
When using 3 Finger clickswipe gestures macOS also does the default 3 Finger Swipe action.
To mitigate this you have to disable the 3 Finger Swipe Gesture in System Preferences and add a shim entry in BTT to retain back and forward swipes, see screenshot.
Maybe make people aware of this when they select Clickswipe Actions in BTT.
