3 finger click not clicking (haptic-clicking) in High Sierra 10.13.6

Describe the bug:

When 3 finger clicking on a Magic Trackpad 2, the device no longer “clicks” (but the action still works). Clicking returns after quitting BTT.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

Magic Trackpad 2

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: 27" 2011 iMac
  • macOS version: 10.13.6
  • BetterTouchTool version: 2.620 (also 2.605)

Additional information (e.g. StackTraces, related issues, screenshots, workarounds, etc.):

Works fine in Sierra 10.12.6 on same computer.

Tried a clean install of 10.13.6...same issue.

So, I tried updating (a copy of) the Sierra partition that worked fine to High Sierra and the issue arose again. Tried both a hfs and apfs upgrade; no difference.

I decided HS wasn't worth the hassle on that iMac...this was one of many niggles.
