Describe the bug
A clear and concise description of what the bug is. Any bug reports that contain insults against me or my software will be deleted without warning (unfortunately this has become necessary to mention here).
Upon booting for the first time in MacOS 15.1 Beta, I've noticed my shortcuts for 2-finger force touch (which I've historically assigned globally to middle click) do not work anymore. I use this shortcut many times a day to close tabs and or open links in new tabs, so this is a massive bummer.
Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):
Macbook Trackpad (MBP16 w/ M1 Pro)

Device information:
- Type of Mac: MBP 16inch
- macOS version: MacOS 15.1
- BetterTouchTool version: 4.649 alpha
Additional information (e.g. crash logs, related issues, etc.):
I will probably upgrade to the 15.1 beta once the 15.0 golden master has been released, however that might still take a while. 15.1 is currently in an too early state to try fixing things.
Do other BTT gestures work for you?
Yes - the rest work fine! Just the double force click unfortunately ::
I feel you on the 15.1, I was excited for iPhone mirroring and Apple AI.
could you check whether the force click shows up in the recently used section in BTT? (maybe it's triggering but the middle click is not working?)
Appears that middle click shows up, indicating middle click not working...?
maybe try sending cmd+click instead for now, that usually achieves the same as middle click
Weirdly, no dice. Get the same sensation in the trackpad. The trackpad sort of spazzes out when the 2-finger force click happens.
the sensation might be fixed in the latest alpha, however that should not effect the behavior when triggered
I see - looking forward to seeing if you can replicate when you upgrade to 15.1!
Same for me, but I'm still on Sonoma 14.6.1 (and latest BTT) (2019 MBP15).
It's only the 2 finger force touch, 1 and 3-5 do work. No idea since when though, I don't use this gesture.

Bumping this, since MacOS 15 is officially released and BTT still doesn't support 2-finger Force Touch correctly.
I just checked on 15.1, but it is working fine here and I haven't had similar reports.
Are maybe some of the settings changed here?
Dang that's weird. I have the same settings as yours. I even went so far to reset all my settings. Tested on two different Macbook Pros (M1 Pros) running 15.1 and BTT 4.826. Neither MBP has a working double force touch, even if I change the Actions executed.
Weird, I can't think of any reason why this would not work.
Do even simple actions like the "Show HUD" not do anything?
I figured out the issue. Turns out, Chrome now detects the two-finger (non-force) click first, opens up the right-click menu, and then the two-finger force action (middle click) cancels out that menu instead of completing the middle click.
I'm able to prove this by opening the right click menu first on a link, and then the two-finger force click works as intended.
This did not happen before MacOS 15!
Video example. In the first two attempts, I two-finger force click, and the right click menu opens quickly and closes. In the last attempt, I open the right click menu first, THEN I do my two-finger force click, which opens the tab as intended.
Any ideas on a fix?
You could configure thre right click in BTT and disable it in System Settings => Trackpad:
