Window snapping guide activates unprompted

Describe the bug
With BetterTouchTool running, when I am in the middle of a task (but not dragging a window) the window snapping guides will become permanently active, up until BTT is quit or restarted.

This bug has been occurring for me for the past year or so I believe, and hasn't been affected by recent releases, or configuration changes to my knowledge. I do not know what the specific trigger is; some days it won't happen at all; other times is will occur quite often. In the system settings, I have always used the double-tap dragging option, and I've wondered if this is related. For reference this setting can be found in: Accessibility > Pointer Control > Mouse & Trackpad > Trackpad Options... > Enable dragging ['without drag lock' in my case].

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):
Built-in MacBook trackpad.
