Why can't I add any Touch Bar buttons?

I just installed BTT on my MBP, Mojave and am unable to get started with it!
I've enabled BTT in the Accessibility | Privacy settings.
I tried restarting multiple times.
The best I can do is make the BTT icon show up in the Control Strip:

but the icon doesn't do anything.
I am unable to add any buttons (+ TouchBar Button) in the configuration dialog - in fact the "1" and "2" guiders never even go away!

No luck with the new UI either. Am I missing something really obvious here?

For some reason no master preset seems to be selected.
Could you click on Manage Presets, then select the default preset in the master dropdown?

I think I know what caused this and will upload a fixed version in a minute.

There was no default preset btw, I had to create a new one.

Yep, glad you reported this :slight_smile:
(the default preset was only generated when using the old UI).

Is there anything special about the default preset or is there a way I can recreate one?
