What does "Enable system three finger up / down swipe events" in "Settings - Trackpad - Swipe" do?

Title. It’s currently disabled in my setting. I’m thinking about It because rn my config is like this:

I disabled the system swipe up/down gestures and moved them to BTT purely for avoiding conflicts. However sometimes if I swipe left and right too far/much. The BTT swipe up gesture would still be triggered (The exact behavior I wanted to avoid by moving swipe up/down gestures to BTT).

So I’m thinking about this setting. 1. What does It do? 2. Is there some way to enable the system swipe up/down gestures without conflict with BTT swipe left/right gestures?

That is strange, you mean the four finger up/down swipes you have configured in BTT trigger if you swipe left/right?

That setting is something very specific, it can enable legacy system up/down gestures - this is not helpful for you.

Yes.

Thanks for the answer! After some experimentation I think that the system gestures for swipe up/down seem harder to trigger accidentally with BTT swipe left/right. So I guess I will just use those for swipe up/down.
