Known issues
My discord community has picked up that some icons in this version were corrupted. Functionality shouldn't be hindered but well, you might not be able to tell what buttons do haha!

These issues have been fixed in AquaTouch v3.6.5.

v3.6.6 - Hello Again!

Hello again! It's been a while hasn't it? My college workload has kept me really busy continues to increase, so apologies for the lack of updates latley. Though AquaTouch v3.6 has been holding up quite well, don't you think?

I managed to find a glimmer of free time to see what I can improve for you all. Here's what I've got in this update:

Web tools support for more browsers!

Most web tools now support Brave, Edge and Opera in addition to Safari and Chrome

Fantastical in the QuickStrip
Head to AquaTouch Settings to activate Fantastical!

Choose your app switcher
New settings to pick what kind of app switcher you'd like in Quick Apps:

Your currently open apps...

A dock...

Or just the actions...

New App Plex
Now supports Plex video streaming app, created by discord member Twipeep!

New App Purr Data
Now supports the visual coding / audio art tool Purr Data.

Finder
Added a Power User button, it unhides many of Finder's tools that apple hides by default. You might have never seen these and wondered why PC had them.

Documentation
The installation guide has been checked over and reworded in some parts.
A new section instructs you about how to get the expanded MacOS Control Strip back.

Stabilisation

Bluetooth, Aeroplane Mode Toggle
The Bluetooth and Aeroplane mode toggle has not been working as of late, so they have been hidden for now. It's better to keep things clean than available but not working.

Arrow Key Media Shortcuts
One of AquaTouch's features was the ability to control media playback by holding down fn and tapping the arrow keys.

I did not realise that people used this same shortcut to toggle page up and down. For a long time there was an ability to toggle it off in the settings, but BTT was not handling it well and was still blocking page up and down.

I have decided to remove the feature as it seems like most people are not using this shortcut either way, and it's best to give page up and down back to those who use it.

Spotify Genius Button
The Spotify Genius button didn't work if Safari was running but without any windows open. This has been fixed.

Web Tools
Some web tools have been re-aligned and polished, and also bug fixed.

It can run on non-english systems, but it's functionality may become very limited and buggy as AquaTouch looks for english labels, menus and keyboard shortcuts.

As BTT presets don't support localisation, AquaTouch's code would need to be completely re-written in the new language, which unfortunately is not feasible... Sorry for any inconvenience with this.

An update on AquaTouch Development
As we observe Apple move away from the TouchBar, I too have decided to move away from focusing all efforts on AquaTouch.

I did have big plans for AquaTouch, like making it modular and creating a store of presets, but I suppose it wouldn't be worth proceeding with them seeing the situation. With how well AquaTouch is doing already, small refinements and streamlining how it is now might benefit more than big radical updates.

So, AquaTouch development will now slow down into a maintenance-only state for those who still use the TouchBar. Essentially keeping it as it is instead of seeking to make radical new improvements.

But as one thing comes to an end, another begins anew.

I will set my focus on new projects, including an idea that could pickup where AquaTouch leaves us! This one could theoretically on any computer as well!

It will be a while before I manage to create anything though as I need to learn how to make real applications. So, if you'd like to keep up to my creations, come and join my discord for now. I don't have much of a newsletter or socials yet, but it is something I want to develop as well.

Anyways, here in this version we have a bunch of stability improvements. It's great to see the Bluetooth widgets working again, as well as Night Shift and True Tone buttons. Various other things that have been broken for a while have also been fixed, check out the changelog below!

This version is not running properly and is now under maintenance. There is no fully working version of AquaTouch as of now.

If you're curious feel free to download and try out this late version, it won't break your system, but a lot of it's mechanics are currently glitching out and it's not a good experience

I will see what I can do about this, but a fix may take a while.
Apologies for the inconvenience!
