I tried assigning each shortcut combination sepparetely, but “sometimes” this method fails because BTT will not listen to the shortcut repeatedly
not sure if would be best to set a chain of “if key is being pressed” for each key combination of F keys + currently pressed modifiers
if you still have these active, you might need to delete them when using the method described above - otherwise they might catch your modifier clicks before the other one can react
I'll check why they might not allow re-triggering, this could be a bug!
set up.bttpreset (13.7 KB)
this is my set up, deleted the old triggers, it still doesn’t work
if I do “shift+F6” only this is being registered
that's normal as this is the only trigger set up in BTT - which should handle all modifier keys.
In what app are you using these F keys? (It could be that app does not like programatically generated keyboard events)
Photoshop and Figma (desktop version)
Finder
it doesn't work in any app really
Unfortunately I can not reproduce this here, I just did some more tests in Photoshop (e.g. the Fill command which defaults to Shift+F5 on my machine) but it all seems to work fine.
Which version of macOS are you currently running? (I'm on 26.2)
Do you have some other mouse / keyboard related apps running that might interfere?
Yeah, I’m also using the latest version of MacOs, 26.2. Also the latest version of BTT.
I don’t know why it doesn’t work to be honest. BTT is the ONLY shortcut tool currently installed on my computer. Andreas, could you help me figure this out somehow? I have extensively tried workarounds, and I imagine that it’s possible that with your aid I might be able to fix this in minutes
Just wanted to say thank you @Andreas_Hegenberg. For your reactivity, availability and the great support you provide for your tool! I am aware of no other app that is so amazingly pushed by its dev.
RN I’m using my Logitech Keyboard and Mouse happy as a dog who got a treat, with great functions and workflow upgrade! So for this, thank you!!
sorry for bothering you with this, I still couldn’t make the configuration work myself. I’m not sure what’s missing, but in case you can help, I’d appreciate it.
I’ll leave my configuration here. I added the shortcuts sepparately just to “patch” the solution for now. But it isn’t reliable enough, since “repeating” the shortcut many times over sometimes doesn’t work.
