Toggle Album Artwork In "Now Playing" Widget

Is it possible to be able to toggle the iTunes / Spotify / etc. artwork in the new "Now Playing" widget that was added? I like the functionality of the widget vs. the old Apple Script version I was using, but I like to keep my display as clean as possible and the artwork clutters that up, or won't populate correctly.

Are you saying there is a way to create a touchbar button that toggles between two settings? If so, I'd like to learn how to do this.
