Three-finger click and drag triggers differently on different trackpads

Describe the bug
I have an Apple Magic Trackpad 2 connected to a laptop with an older (non-force-click) built-in trackpad. I have 3-finger-click configured to middle click.

On the non-force-click built-in trackpad, I can click with three fingers, then remove all but one of the fingers to middle-click and drag

Detailed sequence:

  1. Place index, middle, and ring fingers on trackpad
  2. Click down on trackpad => Middle click starts
  3. Place thumb on trackpad
  4. Remove other fingers from trackpad
  5. Use index or middle finger to move cursor => cursor moves while middle-clicking
  6. Release trackpad click => Middle click ends

On the Magic Trackpad 2, as soon as I release a finger from the middle click (step 3), I feel another vibration and the trackpad right-clicks, even though I never stopped pressing down on the trackpad

Affected input device:
Magic Trackpad 2

(First try was with built-in trackpad, second and third with MT2)

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MBP 15" Mid-2014
  • macOS version: 11.0.1(20B29)
  • BetterTouchTool version: 3.510 (1648)
