Ah, Andreas, I just realized that this only happens with this action.
This one works as expected.
Hilft das, um den Fehler zu finden?
Mh they use exactly the same code. Could you try to delete the trigger and configure it again? Maybe it contains some old size data!
Yes, that was apparently the problem. After setting it up again, it's working as expected. Thank you very much!
@Andreas_Hegenberg Before I say my farewells to AltTab, which has served me loyally for many years, one last thing:
If you just want to quickly switch back and forth between the last two apps or windows, to see the switcher window is not necessary. It’s more of a nuisance.
So wouldn't it make sense to add an option (delay) that only displays this window after the modifier key has been held down for a minimum amount of time?
yes, this will be added soon!
I assume that’s not possible? If I know that, I’ll stop asking ![]()
Ah, ok, a Ventura problem? I’ll be doing an update soon anyway ![]()
No, everything is configured correctly. However, you're demonstrating the hover window. Does it also work properly for you when the window is triggered by a shortcut?"
yes, also works ![]()
I'm just wondering: Is there a setting for the "window switcher for all apps" that really does that?
As I understand it, this action (when the switcher window isn't visible) should switch back and forth between two apps, not between two windows of the same app. In other words, it should switch to the most recently used window of the most recently used app.
And if that's not how it's supposed to work, wouldn't that make sense?
maybe I don't understand, but the window switcher is not app based - it always switches between windows based on the chosen sorting.
You understood everything perfectly and brought up the only argument that contradicts mine.
Let me put it another way: It’s about combining two useful things. The solution is actually already there. It just doesn’t work properly because you didn’t design it that way.
It’s best if you take a look at these two macros. I use Cmd + Paragraph to avoid conflicts.
Idealer Fenster Switcher.bttpreset (5.2 KB)
1. Switches between the last two windows of an app. No switcher window appears if the keys are tapped briefly. If Cmd is held down, the window appears. This trigger is “on release.”
2. Switches to the last app when both keys are held down. This trigger works on key down.
So, a long press switches to the last app. A short press either switches between the last two windows or displays all windows of that app.
There’s an even better version, but unfortunately, that one doesn’t work at all ![]()
