The file couldn’t be saved because you don’t have permission

Not really a new topic but I just restored a new SSD from backup and now am getting " The file couldn’t be saved because you don’t have permission error on any use of BTT. I've set permissions in System Preferences Security and Privacy. I've seen 2 suggestions on this forum, "delete the file" - so I don't know what file is referred to in either the message or this suggestions and issuing "sudo chown *" which gives me "illegal user name" response. So I continue to get the message on any use. Also, when I execute one transformation using quote, it works but leaves an image of the icon block on screen (which disappears after responding to the "The file couldn’t be saved because you don’t have permission" message. So, the net of this message is that I've not been successful at getting rid of this message.

Not sure why but I'm no longer getting this message.
