Support for Logitech MX keyboard incomplete

Sorry for reviving this thread, saw the MX Mini mentioned here so it felt relevant.

On the MX Keys Mini, you have two modes toggled by Function Lock: media keys (default) or standard F-keys. In media mode, the function row maps to:

  • F1-F3: Device switching

  • F4-F5: Keyboard brightness down/up

  • F6: Dictation

  • F7: Emoji picker

  • F8: Screenshot

  • F9: Mic mute

  • F10: Play/Pause

  • F11: Mute

  • F12: Volume down

  • Insert key (left of Delete): Volume up

The problem is that neither mode seems to give me what I want:

  • In media mode, F1–F3 seem to trigger Logitech's device switching, and I can't get BTT to pick them up at all. I'd love to remap those to brightness, since I use this pretty extensively (via Lunar for my monitors)

  • In Function Lock mode, F1–F12 work as standard function keys, which is great, but the Insert/Volume Up key stops doing anything. I checked with Karabiner Event Viewer and pressing it doesn't register any event.

Ideally I'd like standard F-keys and the volume controls. Is there any chance to do this with BTT, or to get the Insert key to show up in Function Lock mode? Would really appreciate any ideas.

Thanks and BTW, the level of keyboard customization in BTT is incredible so I’m very impressed that BTT has Logitech-specific keyboard and mouse mapping in the first place, especially having so many Logitech devices collecting dust over the years. I’m glad to be rid of that trash Logi Options software, downloaded it originally to set my keyboard backlight timeout, but glad I don’t need to have it installed anymore.
