Shortcuts missed when using terminal

Describe the bug
When pressing custom shortcuts whilst using the terminal, sometimes the shortcut is missed. When this happens the shortcut is ignored until better touch tool is restarted. This makes me think that it is perhaps a process priority problem. I have tried activating the priority helper for btt in general settings, but unfortunately this did not solve the problem.

Shortcuts I am using are cmd + w and cmd + s so nothing very fancy. They work fine when not using the terminal.

One other clue as to what it could be is that the shortcuts I'm using are in a conditional group that only run when terminal is the active window. Like I said, sometimes they work fine, but then they will just stop working.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

Keyboard.
