Describe the bug
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

When I try to take any kind of screenshot, all windows are ignored, fullscreen and floating windows.

I am expecting a screenshot of the application window.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):
all of them?

lol this would be various photos of my wallpaper which is the stock catalina

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MacBook Pro 13 inch touchbar with T2
  • macOS version: Catalina latest as of time of this post
  • BetterTouchTool version: 3.206

Additional information (e.g. StackTraces, related issues, screenshots, workarounds, etc.):
the mojave screenshot tools work just fine, I am expecting that behavior from BTT and I am doing this because I want the auto upload to imgur functionality

you need to grant the screen recording permission (system preferences -> Security and Privacy -> Privacy)

yeah it's stupid :slight_smile: especially because there is no indication it failed. Unfortunately the Apple APIs are super weird/bad in this regard.

Thanks! I have the same problem. Thing is... should I add all the applications so I can take screenshots of all? It sounds.... stupid.

No, you just need to grant BTT the screen recording permission.

Ok, my problem was just to d with taking screenshots in general.
