Quick note widget

Hello gang,

is it possible to make a button/widget with a quick note?
What I would really like is to have an option to press a custom button on the BTT touch bar, enter a value with my keyboard, hit enter and have it display that value until I input the next value. Think of it as a quick note button, so I can save a small piece of info, quickly. I often need to write down a number. I use a piece of paper but would really find it useful if I could use BTT for that.

Any ideas?

Try this:

V5 - 22/09/18 - Got rid of several issues, now allows multiple paragraphs more easily and limits total length to 250 characters to avoid issues with file name length. Visible length is currently restricted to 15 characters but can easily be changed

The widgets asks you to enter a note, checks for a folder at Documents called BTTNotes (makes one if there isn't one). Then saves the note as an empty text file in the folder. It will then display the name of the file.

  • Default note is "Note"

  • Default note is previous note where possible to make it easy to copy the old note.

V4 - Found a major bug with V3, where it didn't want to work properly. Hopefully this one works now, please let me know if it doesn't.
