When the new default Now Playing widget is running Spotify, I can't quit Spotify. If I quit Spotify, it quits, the widget hides, and then Spotify automatically launches again (and the widget returns). Here's my settings.

I'm having this problem with both Spotify and iTunes. When I quit either of them, they automatically re-open and hide themselves. Does not matter if music is playing or not. The only solution is to Force Quit, which is problematic as my iTunes library is very large and takes forever to load after a Force Quit.
This was actually due to a play/pause script, not the Now Playing Widget - Sorry!
Hey, dropping in from 2024 via my time machine. This issue is still affecting me - not only with Spotify but also with Music and VLC. Has anyone found a workaround?
