No haptic feedback with 5-finger click

Suddenly, I've lost haptic feedback on the 5-finger click with BTT and the Apple Magic Trackpad 2. I have the 5-finger click set to trigger Command-W, and the trigger still works. But I'm not getting a "click" from the trackpad, and it's disconcerting.

Device information:

  • Late 2012 iMac, 27"
  • macOS 10.13.4
  • BetterTouchTool 2.511

Any possibility that something's just gone haywire? If I quit BTT, the haptic feedback on 5-finger click returns, but obviously no key command. At my wit's end.

Thanks!

So far the only solution is to use the "new" style haptic feedback because it uses a different API.

As far as I can tell the issue is caused by a corrupted macOS installation, for affected users only reinstalling macOS has made the issue go away completely. It only affects a handful of users on mostly older systems for some reason.

That resolves it. Thank you!
