Mouse / Trackpad frequently stuck in right-click mode after using KeyboardCleanTool

The mouse cursor frequently gets stuck in "right-click mode" – all standard left-clicks are registered as secondary (right) clicks across macOS.

I have noticed a consistent pattern: the issue is frequently triggered right after cleaning the keyboard using KeyboardCleanTool, which I use regularly (Caps Lock key should be pressed several times during the process). Once KeyboardCleanTool is closed, BTT often seems to retain a stuck modifier state, forcing all clicks to act as right-clicks until BTT is restarted.

MacBook Trackpad, mouse. In BTT, I have Caps Lock configured to act as a Hyper Key

there can indeed be conflicts with BTT and KeyboardCleanTool.

Better use the new keyboard cleaning action that is integrated in BTT (requires v6.735 )

Ok, so KeyboardCleanTool is now deprecated?

no, it should just not be used with BTT at the same time (because they both use the same apis for keyboard handling they can easily conflict unfortunately)

There will soon be a new KeyboardCleanTool build that brings the features from that new action to KeyboardCleanTool itself.

I was worried that shortcuts that only work when the keyboard is blocked would still work even after enabling that feature. But they don't. That's good :slight_smile:
