would it be possible to have something like TypeClipboard in BTT?
Basically a more configurable way to type clipboard contents as actual keystrokes, with things like adjustable delay between keys etc.
I know BTT already has a type clipboard function, but I remember having some issues with it before (can't remember exactly what it was though). I've been using the Keyboard Maestro equivalent instead and for some reason that has worked more reliably for me.
TypeClipboard seems pretty nice since you can configure the typing speed/delay and some other options. Maybe something similiar could be added to BTT's existing action?
Or is there already a way to do this that I've missed?
Mh the type actions are used a lot by many BTT users, the delay is automatic - it should not be necessary to modify that. If you can figure out what exactly didn't work for you with the type actions I can probably test & fix it.
I tested the Type Clipboard feature, and it seems to work fine, even though it’s much faster than the one in KMM.
I’ve had some issues with this in the past, and I think they were related to the typing speed. In some places, if the text is typed too quickly, parts of it can get lost or some characters are missed. Both KMM and BTT’s Type Clipboard seem to be too fast for certain applications or text fields, which can cause missing letters or other weird behavior.
Another reason why a speed configuration option would be useful is if you accidentally trigger Type Clipboard when you have a lot of data in the clipboard or the focus is in the wrong place. Once it starts typing, there doesn’t seem to be any way to stop it.
It would be nice if there were an option to type only while the hotkey is being held down, so releasing the hotkey would immediately stop the typing. I’m not sure if this is possible, though.
