Hi,

I'm running the latest version of Tahoe and the current BTT version (v6.813 as of now).

I have configured a 3-finger-click trigger for the Magic Trackpad to close the window under the cursor using the following actions:

- Activate/Bring to Front Window under cursor
- Send Cmd+W keyboard shortcut

Occasionally it happens that I trigger this by accident, but usually in that moment I am instantly aware before releasing the click.
In the past, in this case, I was able to just lift the third finger off the trackpad and then releae the click to "disarm" the trigger.
A few weeks(?) ago this changed - it seems that the 3-finger-click is registered with the "press" event and executed with the "release" event, regardless of a change in the number of fingers on the trackpad between those events.

The change might have been intentional or it might be a bug.
It it was intentional, it would be great if the behavior was configurable.
Unfortunately, I do not follow all the BTT changes reading the release notes, so maybe I missed something obvious here.

Sebastian

You can explicitly set whether to trigger on click down or release now:

Thanks for the quick reply!

I have already set the "window activate" and "cmd+w" actions to be executed on release.
They are in fact only executed with the release - but they are "registered" already with the press event and do not get canceled when changing the conditions that caused the trigger between press and release.

Example:

- configure a 3-finger-click trigger with an action that executes on release
- push down on the trackpad with 3 fingers
- nothing should happen, because the trigger actions are executed on release only
- lift off one finger (-\> from my view, this should now become a 2-finger-click or at least invalidate the 3-finger-click event)
- release the remaining 2 fingers
- your configured 3-finger-click actions are executed
