Magic Mouse Tap to click doesn't work.

Describe the bug
One finger tap left to left click doesn't work half of the time. Dragging windows or highlighting text is almost impossible, so this issue renders tap to click gesture unusable for me.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

Magic mouse usb-c

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: Macbook Pro 16inch M3
  • macOS version: Tahoe 26.6.2
  • BetterTouchTool version: 6.746 2026082105

Additional information (e.g. crash logs, related issues, etc.):

Other tap gestures work with no issue.

When I use "Show Live View", it shows blue dot but doesn't register gesture log.

Restarting the mac or the app didn't help. Recently I had several mouse apps but I deleted all except Logitech+.

is this option still enabled? (on by default, but would be the only thing I can think of that explains your issue as this is probably BTT's most used gesture)

Yes, I also reduce the amount of pressure needed but didn't help.

Just to be clear, single tap is broken not just double tap.

are you sure only one finger is touching the mouse ? (confirm via live view).

BTT does only recognize single finger taps if no other touch is happening at the same time.

Possibly post a video of the live view, maybe I can see what’s wrong

Okay, after some experimenting, I figured out why:

Single taps: Even if my middle finger is hovering above the surface (not touching, but 1–2 mm away), it sometimes registers as a touch, meaning it accidentally detects both of my fingers at once. How can I prevent this besides lifting my finger higher (since that's fatiguing)?

Double taps: If the mouse isn't completely still between consecutive taps, the app doesn't register the dragging/highlighting gesture. Is there a way to fix this? Since the Magic Mouse sensor is located at the tip of the mouse, it can be shaky during clicks and gestures.

I like your app, this is my second license since 2022. I would appreciate it if there are any settings or workaround configurations you could suggest for my issues.
