Hey, since the macOS update BTT dosn't start on startup. When I manual open it, you can see, that my mousegesture was tracked. I deleted it from the options and put in again. That dosn't helped.
Any Ideas? Thanks!
do you have enabled the launch in startup option in the BTT preferences?
Yes I have. Same settings like before the setup. After it didnt work
BST does not snap two of my apps i.e. Viber and Wechat. Other than that all work well. Please get BST fixed. Thanks.
@Hoang_Minh Here is a beta of BetterSnapTool 1.9.1 which should ask for the new Catalina screen recording permission and work better even if you don't grant it:
https://bettertouchtool.net/releases/BetterSnapTool_1_9_1_beta.zip
Would be great if you'd test it.
BST 1.9.1 will expire on Nov 11, 19, will I be charged any more when BST 1.9.1 is finalized? I already paid for the final BST 1.9.
no, it will be available on the Mac App Store as a free update once the beta test has finished
Thanks for your reply. BST 1.9.1 Beta is working good. Viber and Wechat apps are now snapping. The question is that with the BST 1.9.1 Beta installed, will I get notified when its final version comes out?
no, unfortunately not - but it will be available before the beta ends
Thanks!
Found the solution. The checkbox "hide" has to be disabled. Bevor that wasn't a problem. Now it works
After upgrading to Catalina I noticed that when I clicked and dragged to highlight text within an application that was not near my snap areas as soon as I started dragging the snap areas would appear. It seems bettersnaptool thought I was moving the window and if my dragging (for highlighting text) ended in a snap area then the window would resize.
I wanted to let you know that I downloaded the beta image that you put on your website and after added the screen recording permission the issue is resolved. Hope you can push the update the to the Mac app store soon.
Thanks so much for the amazing tool and I still like it better than Magnet and any other tool out there because it has so much customizability. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for testing the beta. The new version is now available via the Mac App Store too.
The battery level for the Magic Mouse is showing 0% on the current versions of BTT and macOS Catalina.
CTRL + rotate left/right doesn't work anymore. Neither does it work CTRL + OPT + rotate left/right or CTRL + OPT + CMD + rotate left/right
Tiptap left/right register a click first. I'm using it to cycle through tabs but if the pointer is on eg. a video, after using tiptap lef/right, the video starts playing and the it cycles through tabs.
Doubleclick main menubar = show/hide menu bar icons left of BTT icon doesn't work anymore
Window snapping is not working anymore.
In general, very few things work but most of them does not work
make sure to update to the latest version
All of that should be working fine. Otherwise make sure BTT is enabled (click menubar icon to see the current state) or try to restart your machine.
Hah funny, BTT was disabled somehow but enabled it for all apps and it seems to work perfectly now.
Thanks for this awesome tool.
P. S. Is there any way to hold down a key and tapping the trackpad, to imitate a numpad? So the trackpad has zones for the numbers, just like a full blown keyboard?
Pinch to Zoom does not work. Only quitting BTT allows it to function.
Hi,
Updated to Catalina 10.15. BTT was very buggy (asking for permissions over and over despite me opening permission in sys preferences). Decided to remove, download latest. Now doesn't launch at all. No crash logs, no nothing. Any advice?
Thanks
If it is asking multiple times, that’s usually a file permission error. Did you recently rename your user account or restore from a time machine backup?
The easiest way to reset it would be by removing these (this will however delete your BTT settings):
~/Library/Application Support/BetterTouchTool
and
~/Library/Preferences/com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool.plist
(open the ~/Library folder via Finder -> Go -> Go to Folder)
Possibly also reset all the BTT permissions using this terminal command:
tccutil reset com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool
