built a Touch Bar over two days after being new to BTT - then it disappeared overnight to be replaced with nothing - is there any way to get it back - I am running 10.14 and BTT 2.636
is all lost?

Did you maybe just hide it accidentally? Or are the triggers not being shown anymore in the BTT preferences?
If it's just hidden I recommend to add a keyboard shortcut and assign the predefined action "Toggle BetterTouchTool Touch bar". This allows you to easily switch between the system and the BTT Touch Bar.
