Is it getting harder to click?

I've noticed that it seems to be harder to click everything on my Apple Magic Trackpad 2 and I'm wondering if it's because of an OS update, my mouse or something BTT related.

I'm hurting my hand because everything seems to take three times as much force to trigger. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Device information:

  • Mac mini 2018
  • macOS Big Sur 11.6
  • BetterTouchTool version 3.600

This might sound like a hardware issue but the trackpad 2 has no moving parts so all the sensitivity and clicks are software based. It's probably not BTT and it doesn't seem like anyone else is having any issues like this but I'm getting desperate.
