# iPadOS menu bar theme - my setup & request

I've recreated the iPadOS status bar! It gives macOS a bit of a lighter feel.

Clicking the app menu opens the ⌘? menu for menu bar search (or could open Raycast's equivalent).  
Clicking the app menu with option held reveals the full menu bar in a context menu.

The clock is generated with Javascript.  
The battery icon has been added standalone to the right of the Menu Bar Status Items, to get it to the right of the control centre button.  
The app menu is generated using AppleScript.

Scripts are configured to run when the focused app changes, and on the minute.

Currently, the menu bar only shows on the active monitor. I'm not sure there's a way to have two instances of a persistent menu short of copy & paste.

Currently, the background looks a bit off as it's stretching my wallpaper. I'd love a way to make it appear transparent by mirroring the wallpaper underneath.

This look is also quite fun - replacing the App menu with the iPadOS triple-dot menu.

You can access window management from the menu bar search, so it's almost like extending that to be a touch-friendly way to search an app's shortcuts.

Nice! I'll add a way to use the desktop wallpaper at the menu's position as background soon. Also there will be a menu bar items widget soon.

Oh, I'm using that widget already! I just hid a lot of my menu bar items from it. 😄

It's showing the control centre, BTT, and focus mode items.

Thanks so much! I've been seeing floating action menus in the update notes for ages, but never really realised they could be used like this. I'll be keenly paying attention now!

Ohh, sorry - menu bar items as opposed to menu bar _status_ items. 😆

That will be interesting to play with!
