'Inverse scrolling for normal mice only' setting broke after latest update

Describe the bug

I just updated to the latest version (6.182) and the ‘Inverse scrolling for normal mice only’ option stopped working. I’ve restarted BTT, unticked and reticked the option, and restarted my laptop and nothing has fixed it.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

Normal mouse (Razer brand)

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: Macbook Pro 16-inch, Nov 2024
  • macOS version: Tahoe 26.2
  • BetterTouchTool version: 6.182

Edit:

Some other oddities seem to have also cropped up. I have had a two scroll modifies working since the smooth scrolling update launched (I do have a smooth scrolling modifier active at all time). One is active all the time and the other is triggered by holding the CMD button down. As of the latest update, when using the CMD modifier I have set up, reverse scrolling works. It also doesn’t seem to work properly in the Figma app (design app with a canvas similar to an Adobe app). In Figma, holding down CMD will change the scroll wheel behavior to zoom in and out, so I created the secondary distance per tick modifier for that interaction (holding down CMD). But since this update, holding CMD in Figma and scrolling does not zoom anymore and also does not smooth scroll at all. It’s very odd.

the modifier behavior had to change slightly to make them more flexible.
If you have a modifier with cmd that is active because you are holding cmd, other modifiers without cmd will not work while that one is active. (This is consistent with other triggers in BTT). You can add additional cmd versions of your other modifiers.

OK, so I just added modifiers to account for scroll direction, distance per tick, and smooth scrolling for both not holding CMD and holding CMD and everything seems to be working as expected now, so thanks for that!

I would recommend some help/info/detail text explaining the change (didn’t see anything in the release notes saying the update would change things). It also might be worth having something explaining that having scroll modifiers will render the ‘inverse scrolling for normal mice only’ option useless under that option in the general settings as that is now the case.

Yep good point! There are not many users of this feature yet because it is so new, but I have added it to the release notes!
