Improved shirt interference management

I use my laptop on, of all places, my lap. Unfortunately, I am usually wearing a shirt when I do this, and the fabric of the shirt often brushes the bottom edge of the trackpad interfering electronically with my finger input. I have considered switching to form fitting shirts and have investigated putting a piece of aluminum foil or tape across the bottom strip of my trackpad, but neither of those are good solutions. This wouldn't be a problem if Apple had designed "laptop" computers for use on one's lap and had a few test users who wore shirts, but who am I to question the ways of Cupertino.

That said, I would like to ask if there is some way BT can simply ignore touches on the bottom 1 cm or 1/2" of my trackpad?
