I have a macbook Air M4 2025 OSX: 26.2 Tahoe.
Recently I bought a stream deck scissors 15 keys mk2.
To switch the stream deck on does not work with the command:
BTT has full control.
Turn Stream Deck ON. How can I fix this?
What am I overlooking? Any assistance would be welcome.
My Mac recognizes the device on the usb-c port.
the scissor keys is not yet supported, I'll receive one today, then I will look into it!
The scissor keys MK2 is now supported in 6.168 (uploading)

At the moment I am testing with BTT 6.173 still the buttons of the Stream Deck Scissors are black.
First the logo shows without BTT started
After BTT startup all buttons become black. No logo anymore
I created a shortcut to startup the Stream Deck and nothing is happening.
The message says: Stream Deck ON. But what happens the stream deck stays black.
What am I doing wrong? Why stay the buttons black?

Do you actually have any buttons configured in BTT?
I have already a few users that use the scissor key stream deck successfully with BTT, so it should work!
May be it does work and I do things the wrong way.

What I did was create 2 buttons on the row 1 col 1, row 2 col 2
ON Stream-deck
OFF Stream-deck
Then What to do next.
Show Preview Emulator does nothing.
Can you create an on/off example of stream deck. That I have a good start.
Is there a doc how to set it up from the start.

What I noticed that BTT was not monitoring the input.
After that I had to start Elgato stream desk software and suddenly all button were
visible on the screen. Without Elgato stream deck software the stream remains black.
Is it true that BTT needs elgato to start the stream deck in order to change the configuration.
Or is the stream deck still working when I de-install elgato completely?
No I use the mode:
Stream Deck support enabled: checked
Fully Controlled by BTT: checked.
Now, BTT find its serial number, so BTT sees the stream deck.
What I saw was if Elgato is not starting up in login, the stream deck stays black.
How should it work. Can I de-install Elgato completely, and even then de stream deck
starts up automatically?
yes, if you want to use the full-control mode, the elgato software can (and must) be quit (or uninstalled)

What I noticed was: log off and login was not enough.
I had to reboot. Login
Then automatically Egato is running in the background
En BTT starts up en displays the icons on the stream deck.
This method works.
Now I am going remove the checkmark Open automatically at login
Then I reboot and let you know if stream deck is staying black or not.
I checked it out, step by step
Stream deck works

Close Elgato stream deck
Everything keeps working normally
Reboot
After login
Logo Elgato shows
Then a black screen
And the Logo Elgato shows again
The only difference is I did not start Elgato at logon.
Then afterwards starting Elgato is no longer working, it has to be at login. Otherwise it won’t start.
The stream deck stays off with only the logo showing.
Is this correct behavior?
How can I activate (startup) the stream deck without elgato?
I use your preset to test things out: ExampleStreamDeck.bttpreset
That is the one loaded and activated. Nevertheless it is not activating the stream deck and the stream deck remains black.
Tuesday February 10
After starting up without the Elgato software only on BTT software. The Stream Deck switches on, big improvement. So I noticed that the button are static onto the the Stream Deck. One page is showing and is not changing at all. Nothing is corresponding.
After unplugging and plugin the stream deck remains black.
I removed Elgato software completely and update BTT to V 6.179 Apha version.
What I noticed the menubar is not as stable as it used to be. Often the menu bar is not shown.
About the stream deck
The buttons appear on the stream deck. However the buttons do not function when I press on them. It looks like a static image.
What I noticed. It is improving with the newest version of BTT.
Only with BTT 6.179 Alpha.

I made a new preset with two butttons
Off/On button
Finder button
Off/On does not work yet.
The screen updating is not yet there yet in case of changes.
Only the first keypress works. After that the stream deck is no longer available (dead)
The menubar of BTT is less stable. It appears of and on.

there haven't been changes 
the stream deck support has been mostly unchanged fo quite a while, only support for thr new scissor keys was added (but that was just about adding the identifiers for the new device).
If you want you can share your preset and point out issues you are seeing, then I can tell what's wrong

I work now with V6.182 rebooting does not help either. unplugging is not the solution either.

A big part of the malfunction of the keys was the installation of Karabiner (Keyboard redefining)
(This causes BTT to malfunction). Now I removed Karabiner. The keys of the stream deck functions correctly. Switching off the Stream Deck works as well. Switching on. Not yet.
Can I switch on the Stream Deck by pressing a button on it when it is off?
Maybe I don't understand, what do you mean by Off/On button? Unfortunately your preset only contains 3 buttons, maybe the on off button was in a different preset?
