How do I build this floating menu?

That depends, do you have a fixed position where you want to position it?

Yes, it's a fixed position that I set manually. Just once. When the menu is opened and closed on the external screen, it always appears in the same place.

But when the external screen isn't connected, the menu appears “somewhere” on the internal screen. When the external screen is reconnected, the original position is no longer the same, so it has to be corrected manually.

Does that make sense?

You basically need to define the positioning here. (In this example the menu would be placed at the very top right corner of the focused screen)

Okay, thanks.

One more question: I used copy & paste to add an element six times. These elements appear in the list, but unfortunately not in the live preview or in the actual floating menu.

if you used copy & paste they will all have the same coordinates, so they are probably all behind the right "New Item". Have you tried dragging that around?

True. Thank you.

Darauf muss man aber erst mal kommen :slight_smile:

For anyone who wants to use spacer items, you can create a transparent item by giving the item a Clear Background using the setting in the screenshot below.
(This wasn't obvious to me, but I found it after Andreas suggested using transparent items)

@Andreas_Hegenberg I think I've found a bug.

Sometimes the “List / Live” buttons disappear. To restore them, you have to restart BTT.

Could you please take a look at this? Thanks.

No buttons
