Hiding the ESC key not working

I installed BTT and didn't change anything except hiding the ESC key in the BTT Touch Bar settings (see image below). It's not working. When BTT takes over the Touch Bar I could see the Touch Bar display itself without the ESC key, but a fraction of a second later the ESC key reappears. I restarted BTT, I restarted my Mac, I tried both the latest release and alpha versions.

If you have really nothing configured in BTT, it will not show the Touch Bar. If you just want a black bar, you should still add one button to BTT, you can set its background to black and don't assign any action.

Got it, thanks. I'll just recreate the default set of buttons w/o the ESC.
